The main purpose why the Bushikan Budo Kyokai (BBK) and the Matayoshi
Kobudo Kodokan International (MKKI) were formed was to promote and
preserve the arts of Okinawa Goju Ryu and Matayoshi Kobudo to be passed
on to future generations without any considerations regarding differences
of race, religion, color or gender, keeping the practice of the art
away from promoting personal egos, agendas, or political reasons. TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES One of the main commitments of our Organization is to support our Budo family members offering them constant opportunities for training. As part of that commitment we promote Annual Gasshuku's (camps) and seminars, in the USA as well as outside the country. Through the Bushikan Budo Kyokai we promote every year in Summer our Annual Karate Gasshuku and in Fall we promote our Annual Special Bushikan Seminar. For the Annual Special Seminar the instruction is conducted by Shihan John Roseberry, founder and Chief Instructor of the Shorei Shobu Kan as well as senior instructors of the organization. Both events are conducted in our Honbu Dojo in San Diego and are open to all our Budo Family Members. Also our Bushikan Budo Kyokai is responsible to coordinate and conduct all the different activities related to Karate and Self-Defense that our organization promotes through the year at the San Marcos Unified School District as well as at private companies and organizations. For more details click here. On the other hand, every odd numbered year our Matayoshi Kobudo Kodokan International promotes an International Kobudo Gasshuku in Okinawa taking a team from our Organization to train in the birthplace of Karate and Kobudo, and the even numbered years promotes an equal International Kobudo Gasshuku in our Honbu Dojo in San Diego. Both of these Gasshuku’s are taught by Okinawan/Japanese instructors from our Honbu Dojo the Kodokan. The Gasshuku in Okinawa also includes visits to train in Karate Dojos of important Ryuhas on the island as part of a cultural expansion. In addition to the International Gasshuku’s, Sanguinetti Sensei through our organization, the MKKI, also promotes and teaches an Annual National Gasshuku in our Honbu Dojo in San Diego as well as Annual Gasshuku in our Dojos affiliated inside and outside the USA where he gets invited every year to teach. Gasshuku’s are very important to standardize the instructors and students level and to promote unity among our Budo family members since most of the trainings are three or four days long. Instructors affiliated from within the USA are encouraged to attend a Gasshuku in San Diego at least once per year as well as instructors from outside the USA are encouraged to attend a Gasshuku in San Diego at least every other year. This is very important to maintain their level and to be able to know the other family members. SEMINARS AND GASSHUKU As
part of the constant desire of Sanguinetti Sensei to support all the
members of our Budo family, he makes himself available to travel regularly
to conduct Seminars and Gasshuku's (3~4 days training camps) within
and outside the USA. RANKING PROMOTION One of the many benefits our Organization offers is Ranking Promotion. Testing is conducted primarily through the different Gasshuku’s offered by our organization during the year. Instructors are invited to test directly by the Honbu Dojo, and students are invited by recommendation of their Instructors in direct coordination with the Honbu Dojo. Our Karate Honbu Dojo the Shorei Shobu Kan, recognizes all ranks obtained through the BBK. Our Kobudo Honbu Dojo in Okinawa, the Kodokan Dojo, recognizes all ranks obtained through the MKKI. INTERNET WEB SITE Our Organization offers to all the Budo family members the benefit of a constantly updated web site to maintain information regarding the organization, history, calendar of events and many other beneficial subjects.
