Many martial art organizations have been created primarily with the function to promote tournaments and competitions. The Bushikan Budo Kyokai and the Matayoshi Kobudo Kodokan International were formed by Sanguinetti Sensei with the specific function to promote education through different venues, training events being one of them. Even though Sanguinetti Sensei believes in the use of books and videos as supplementary tools as part of our education in the martial arts, he strongly believes the main source of knowledge should be obtained primarily through personal training.

With that in mind, Sanguinetti Sensei makes the effort every year to promote different events in his Honbu Dojo in San Marcos and also at the Dojo’s affiliated with the organization throughout the USA and the world. One of the main events that Sanguinetti Sensei promotes is called a “Gasshuku”. Gasshuku means to train, to eat and to sleep under the same roof. What this entitles is that the practitioner, coming from different parts of the country and different parts of the world, will spend 3 or 4 days with other practitioners training. Having all that time together training, eating lunch and dinner together, staying under the same roof, increases their technical level and also increases the friendship and family feeling among the participants of the event. As Sanguinetti Sensei makes himself available to travel to all the affiliated dojos around the world to conduct Gasshuku, he also encourages all the members in his organization to take advantage of all the opportunities regardless if the event is in their own country or is in another country. This way, not only do those members traveling have the opportunity to participate in these events, but also instructors of the organization can grow as instructors by having a chance to help Sanguinetti Sensei with the teaching duties at the events.
